Not much, but a day of rain followed by some cold air from Ontario led to the first ‘official’ dusting, eight days before Halloween. All sorts of critters have been enjoying the bounty provided by the apple tree behind the Vermont Mornings company kids play area. 30F (-1C) at 6:15 AM.

On an Autumn day…

The calendar still says early Autumn, but most of Vermont is well past peak foliage. This photo was taken in Woodstock, en route to a hockey clinic on a Saturday morning in the middle of October. And this pair of turkeys (a whole rafter, actually) stopped by the VermontMornings.com apple tree, gorged, and moved on.

Confirmation at 3:00 PM: Police say a body found in Wheelock is that of Pat O’Hagan, the abducted grandmother from Sheffield. At a press conference in Waterbury this afternoon, Vt.
