So what are YOU doing to help the men and women who serve in our military? Sophie McKibben, a sixteen year old high school junior, is in her second year of running Snowjourn, a program that brings members of Vermont’s military and their family to Ripton, Vermont for a weekend of winter fun.
This year, with so many Vermonter National Guard members being deployed to Afghanistan, her efforts take on added significance. In addition, she held a summer fund raiser to get equipment to allow military personnel who have lost the use of their legs to participate in winter events. This is one EXTRAORDINARY young lady.
Thursday morning, Sophie called in and we talked about what she has planned this year.

If you or a loved one is a Vermonter in the military, you still have time to apply. Go to their website, because it’s first-come, first-served and it’s coming right up. And if you can, donate to the cause. Help Sophie make the world a better place. Make a difference. She is.
