What do YOU think?

Editor’s Note:  Jingo The Dark Clown skipped today’s rehearsal for the much anticipated premiere of the Belly Dance Circus on Sept 26 at Catamount Arts in St. Johnsbury.  Sources say he became enraged after watching Kanye West disrupt Taylor Swift’s acceptance speech at last night’s MTV Video Music Awards. We called him for a comment.  He sent us a note…

Was it planned? Or is Kanye West just that big of a dick?

My money’s on Kanye.

I’ve dealt with his kind on many an occasion. The pathetic scene-stealing tool who is just too insecure to let anyone else in the room get as much attention as he does.

The last jerk who pulled a stunt like that on me found himself unable to take a bow at the curtain call because he was handcuffed to a piece of backstage rigging with the words “Amateur Hour” written on a piece of duct tape across his chest.

But that was a long time ago and the culprit on that night was not an internationally famous celebrity like Kanye West.

He should know better.

The worst part of that excruciatingly painful scene is that Kanye would like you to think he was sticking up for Beyonce Knowles.

Bullshit.

This was all about him and his ongoing delusion that he is someone who is important.

I don’t like most rap music and I like country music even less. And awards shows are as big a lie as the one Kanye West tells himself when he wakes up every morning.

But in the end, this was about a grown man who is so insecure that he had to steal somebody else’s moment. He was like an alcoholic staring at the half finished vodka ‘n tonic someone left on an empty table at his sister’s wedding.  He saw his opportunity and took it.

One of the saddest things about the whole ugly incident is that Kanye couldn’t even come up with an original way to disrupt an awards show.

How about David Lee Roth in full-blown ego mode behind Beck at the 1996 Video Music Awards?  Go look it up on MySpace.

Or Timothy Comerford from Rage Against The Machine’s scaling the set in back of Fred Durst at the 2000 VMA’s?

And hey, at least Roth didn’t try and mask his selfish behavior in a phony veil of righteous indignation.

Now it’s possible – although I strongly doubt it – that Roth really didn’t know he was on camera. Or that he was just stoned and the moment struck him like an open bag of Doritos.

Kanye has no excuses. He meant to do it and he wanted us to know it.  But the thing that really gets me angry about this whole thing is that he thinks he’s a man because he stomped out on stage and grabbed a microphone from a waifish teenage girl.  You think he would have pulled that crap if it had been, say, Henry Rollins up there?  Or David Lee Roth?  Or Queen Latifah???

The answer is NO.

Kanye did it because he knew that Taylor Swift could not stop him.  That makes him not just a spoiled rotten brat, but also a bully.
