Nothing good comes from the non-stop rains of July here in Northern Vermont. It has stunted gardens, prevented farmers from getting hay in and also had a dramatic (and mostly negative) impact on tourism. At 3:30 on Saturday morning, the torrential downpours looked like they might threaten the Lyndon Area Chamber of Commerce 39th Annual Stars & Stripes Festival parade in downtown Lyndonville. By 5:00 AM the rain stopped, by 9:00 AM things were drying out and people flocked to the parade route.
