Meteorologist Chris Bouchard from the Fairbanks Museum & Planetarium checked in Sunday evening to let us know that the National Weather Service confirmed that a tornado did indeed touch down on Saturday afternoon in the central Vermont town of Washington. Tornadoes are pretty rare events up here, especially this early in the season.

Temperatures struggled to get out of the low 40′s today. We’ve seen snow on previous Mother’s Days, but it never seems to brighten the smiles on women everywhere.
