New pets and the holidays
November 25th, 2008 · No Comments
Cindy Cady is the animal control officer here in the Town of Lyndon. She visited the studios Tuesday to talk about just how important it is to THINK and PLAN before you bring in a new pet for the holidays. She also, like many of us, had definite thoughts about pet stores and puppy mills. [...]

So who’s cookin’ the turkey, eh?
November 24th, 2008 · 2 Comments
So our studio was graced on Monday morning by Carolyn Cross and Donna Cross, mother-in-law of Carolyn of The Sewing Studio in St. Johnsbury and mother of Jamie Cross, big executive dude at E-H-V Weidmann. Carolyn says Donna, who is here for Thanksgiving week, is a darn good cook, which begs the title question today. The Cross [...]

The week in review

Around here, the seasons change in remarkably speedy fashion. On Tuesday, it was 62F, the sun was out and it still felt (and smelled) like autumn. By Friday, the temperatures in the colder hollows (look it up) was in the single numbers, and the forecast high for Saturday was 22. Farenheit. Whew. We adjust, we [...]

The boys from Burke Mountain were here today with news of humming snow-guns and hopes for an early opening day. Burke spokesman David Gwatkin and operations manager Dick Andross say they’re now looking to open the slopes in East Burke on December 6th. That’s due in part to a favorable weather forcast that predicts cold [...]

Slip sliding away…
November 18th, 2008 · No Comments
Another slippery commute in the Kingdom this morning. Motorists say the Route-2 corridor was especially hazardous is several locations. We haven’t gotten much snow yet but the nights have been pretty chilly leading to icy conditions across the region.

The week in review
November 14th, 2008 · No Comments
The week was full of more political news and more difficult economic news, and in general, we chose to ignore it all on the air. Instead of candidates, we heard comedy. And a couple of Canadians. Head to PODCASTS and enjoy some mindless fun. Next week…how you can become a member of the Manitoba Moose [...]

Without even searching, we managed to find the only two Canadians who are NOT HOCKEY FANS. Jamie and Carolyn Cross moved to the Northeast Kingdom from Winnipeg nine years ago. Jamie works for EHV Weidmann, Carolyn runs The Sewing Studio in St. Johnsbury. (802-748-1599) They are warm and friendly (like most Canadians) and both have [...]
